Like pouring molten glass, but you can do it in your apartment.
When I first moved in, I needed a coffee table, and wanted to make it myself. Poured epoxy tabletops can be both beautiful and durable. I spent about a year researching technique and materials, and collecting bottlecaps (with a little help from my friends — Some of them still save their caps for me). I started thrift-shopping for a table once we had filled a paper grocery bag, and found a great one with a deep, recessed surface. Then I test-fit a bunch of caps to see how many I’d need (912 total, if you were wondering], and created a mockup in Illustrator so I could create and refine patterns quickly.
