When in Rhône Craft Beer Label
Label art for a French-style Saison craft beer named When in Rhône.
Brewed with real, fresh herbes de provence, When in Rhône is an homage to tradition and history. The name is a French play on an old adage about following conventions, and the artwork continues this play, centering on a long-lost Roman gladiator helmet among wild Basil and Sage on the banks of the Rhone River.
Original concept by Edd ‘N Bred brewers, Logan Moore and Brad Parks. I developed the idea first in pencil, then in digital matte painting in Corel Painter, while the brush script type was created in Adobe Illustrator, and then everything was composited in Adobe Photoshop.
On July 29th, 2017, When in Rhône took second place in the Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery Homebrew Competition.
